The first time I heard about Digital Marketing, I was very curious and I decided to make some research about it, what I found out fascinated and scared me at the same time.

The rapid growth and change can either scare you away from it or make you know that there are limitless opportunity to explore. The choice is all yours!

Though the future of this industry is an unknown territory, i think i have learnt one or two ways of surviving and thriving in the wide-ranging world of digital marketing.

My first paid internship program as a Back-end Developer was on June 2019. This was a 9 to 5 job, reasonably well-paid with a high demand within the market. In my first month on the job, I was thrown into the deep-end, and made to work with a content management team (i was maintaining a content management system website). Working with the Supervisors gave me an idea of what digital marketing was all about, although I was inexperienced in the digital marketing field and I learnt some important lessons.

I strongly believe that there is no limit to our personal development. Because of that I realized that, not only do I need to be able to present the information in a visually appealing way, but also know how to present and share it with the public.

I was very conscious that several free or paid courses available were one-dimensional and felt like a map with pieces missing. And I needed to level up and get equipped with the right tools but I had no idea where to start.

After numerous of hours spent researching online, I came across Udacity’s “Digital Marketing Nanodegree Program” and some of my fellow developer friends had done coding courses through Udacity and gave remarkable reviews. As soon as I started DMND, I realized that this course was going to aid my journey in technology.

From content strategy creation to email marketing using Mailchimp and search engine optimization, the DMND covers everything! I am still doing the course as I write this, and I am still very expectant for what I am yet to learn. All I know is that I want to/will be more employable and much better skilled after completing this program.
